Out and About

Enspire Energy is happy to sponsor the 2023 Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna’s Women Build. More than 70 percent of Habitat Susquehanna’s homes are built with and for women’s heads-of-household. Women Build empowers women, while raising awareness regarding the critical need for affordable housing, raising funds, learning new skills, and building homes. 2023 marks the 6th annual Women Build fundraising competition and build. This year’s goal is to raise $50,000 through eleven teams and sponsorships. What is it? Female led teams of up to 10 per team (team members can be male or female) compete to fundraise during the month of April. The team which raises the most, wins the coveted “Tacky Hammer Award”. Leading a team is not a lot of work, but it is very rewarding. We make fundraising easy by providing each team with a fundraising page, that can be easily shared electronically to meet the team fundraising goal of $3,500. Then teams volunteer to build together in May. We get a lot of work done and have a lot of fun along the way – think swag bags, lunch, chair massages, raffles. We have filled our team spots for 2023 – and even exceeded our goal for…

Inside Business and Cherry Bekaert LLP teamed up again this year to recognize the top 20 regions fastest growing companies, The Roaring 20s. Hampton Roads businesses apply and only the top 20 are recognized at an awards ceremony in Virginia Beach. In order to be considered for this award, the company must be founded prior to 2016 and have at least 3 years of revenue growth. This was Enspire Energy’s 2nd year of being selected for this award. We couldn’t be more proud of our team and all of our companies accomplishments over the past few years. https://www.dailypress.com/business/dp-this-year-s-roaring-20-winners-revealed-20191111-story.html

In April 2019, Mary and Julie received a call that Enspire Energy was in the running as one of the 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Own/Led Companies. They packed up and headed down to Charlotte to attend the ceremony, not expecting to win, but honored to be considered. To be grouped with such an amazing group of successful women and see their hard work recognized, was extremely humbling. The Top 5 was announced and Enspire was #1! We are so incredibly proud of our team and all of their hard work. final-2019-50-fastest-press-release-pdf

Once a year the whole Enspire team dusts off their running shoes to participate in the J&A Corporate 5k in Norfolk, VA. We definitely aren’t setting any records but we have a great time…and get in a little exercise!! This is definitely one of our favorite team events! “This girl runs on natural gas”

Enspire hosted our first annual customer event at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. Local customers joined us for a morning of meetings and afternoon of golf. We were fortunate enough to have quite a few amazing speakers join us. Mary Hensley (Enspire Energy), Brandon Martin (NiCHe LNG), Gina Slaunwhite (Columbia Gas of VA), Nate Gilbert (Atlantic Coast Pipeline), Louis Monacell (Virginia Industrial Gas Users Association) all spoke and shared updates on the natural gas market in Virginia, regulatory issues and pipeline/system updates. After having to reschedule the event due to Hurricane Dorian, we lucked out with an absolutely perfect day on a gorgeous course. Our 1st place golf foursome finished with a solid score of 63! We appreciate all of the hard work that was put in to making this event such a success and thank our wonderful customers who joined us. We look forward to our event next year!

On December 19, 2018 the Enspire team joined up with The Salvation Army to participate in the holiday toy drive. This is the third year that Enspire has volunteered at the Salvation Army Christmas Depot and we find it to be more and more rewarding every year. This year Mary and Julie actually got to be “shoppers” and walk with the families while collecting their donations. Amanda, Kelly and Victoria organized and passed out the clothing boxes to each family.
